Kate+Chase | York, AL Wedding
"My super talented sister in law, Paige, handmade it for me. She even included a bit of red lace from a dress of my Grandmother Derby’s. My grandmother had worn the red lace dress to a wedding where she met my grandfather many, many years ago so it was extra special to me! We also used the red lace on my bouquet!"
"Chase and I debated on writing our own vows. We decided to recite the traditional vows in the ceremony and instead write letters on the day of the wedding with our personal vows to each other. Chase had given his sweet letter to Lauren and she gave it to me about an hour before the ceremony. It was addressed to 'KATE ELMORE'! :)"
"The veil was a very special detail to me. I wanted to wear the veil my mom wore when she married my Dad (which was exactly 32 years and a day before my wedding day). The only thing I wanted to change was I always wanted to wear a blusher down the aisle and her veil did not have a blusher. I ran out of time to get a professional to do it so a few nights before the wedding, mom gave me a hand sewing class and we sewed that blusher right on to her veil. It was absolutely perfect."
"This is one of my favorite moments of the day. All of the groomsmen and bridesmaids had walked out and it was just me and Dad left. I remember looking around at how perfect everything was and thanking him for making it all happen. Then of course trying to fight back the tears!"
"My mom is the most beautiful and selfless and fun woman I know. She is my best friend and did everything in her power to make my wedding the best day of my life."
"It was important to Chase and me not to see each other before the ceremony. When I walked down isle, I was so nervous until I saw his face. Then all I can remember is looking at him and how he was looking at me and thinking I had never felt so loved in my whole life. He has always had a loving way of calming my nerves and it was no different in this moment."
"I loved the pictures on the pier. Our amazing photographers stepped back and gave us time alone for a minute and it was so amazing to have a moment together before heading to the reception. I remember us both being in shock that is was actually our wedding day and we were finally husband and wife! This is also where Chase proposed to me only 7 months before!"
"I was beyond pleased with how all of our flowers and decorations turned out. I worked closely with Jill Richards, a florist out of Mississippi, and she helped make all of my ideas come together. I wanted a romantic/woodsy/ bohemian/vintage wedding and that is what we got!"
"I was also set on using real plates because to me it made it feel like we were just having our close friends and family over for dinner. The women in my family helped and we gathered all of their china up and served dinner on them!"
"We danced our first dance to “Wonderful Tonight” by Eric Clapton which also happened to be the lead out song for our Junior Prom in high school (also one of our first official dates!)"
"Dad and I danced to 'Take it to the Limit' by the Eagles. I have grown up listening and singing to the Eagles in my Dad’s truck. This past November, we were able to see them in concert and it was amazing! We picked out 'Take it to the Limit' together and practiced dancing many times leading up to the wedding night."
"My family and I worked so hard on all of the little details to get our camphouse 'wedding ready.' I could have never dreamed it would have all come together so beautifully. There is no way to thank everyone for all that they did but Chase and I are so grateful for the most perfect day ever. We feel so blessed to have found each other and even more blessed to have amazing friends and family to help us celebrate the beginning of our lives together. A big thank you to Jackie and Luke for capturing so many special moments that we will be able to cherish forever!"
And a big thank you from us to Kate, Chase, their incredible bridal party, their friends, and all their family for making the day so amazing to photograph. We loved every single minute of it!
