Hello, everyone!

We are so excited for you all to join us in celebrating our wedding this weekend. We have been having a blast getting everything set up out here. While we’ve been preparing, it has been really sweet to be thinking about each of you who will be joining us and how grateful we are to have you in our lives. Thank you.

We want to share a couple of details now that we are just a few days away.

Weather

As of now, it looks like we might get really lucky with the weather. We have had some big storms out here, and the forecast shows more rain in the days ahead, but Saturday is looking clear and sunny. Fingers crossed. We will have big tents in case the forecast isn’t quite right, but please come prepared for rain just in case.

Getting here/Flooding

If your route to us takes you through Viola, the main road is currently under construction. The detour is very small and only takes you a few blocks over, so just follow the signs to get back to 131 and you will be all good.

A bigger issue in getting here may be flooding. The Kickapoo River is currently just below flood levels, and with more rain in the forecast some roads near us may be under water later today. Welcome to the Driftless! Use the 511 website with the flooding filter turned on to see the most up-to-date information.

If any major roads around here are under water by Saturday morning, we will update this page with some route suggestions. If you don’t live in the area and are unsure about getting here, feel free to reach out and let us know where you are coming from and we can help you.

Schedule of Events

The schedule is pretty loose and relaxed, so feel free to show up any time after 3:00 and hang for as long as you’d like. Here is what we have planned with some time estimates:

3:00 - 4:00 Hanging, hiking, check out our place

4:00 - 5:00 Cocktail hour and apps

5:30 - 7:30 Taco Bar

7:30 - 8:30/9 Square Dancing w/ Liz & Jesse

8:30/9 - ? DJ Do Good

9:00 Late night snacks available (brats, veggie burgers, chips, etc.)

After dark Bonfire & Fireworks!



Misc

The electric fence to the left of the driveway is hot! Please be aware. The fence around the garden will not be turned on.

Pond - feel free to check it out, and even jump in if you’d like! But please stay on the paths and try not to trample plants (we are slowly trying to repopulate this little area with spring ephemerals, ferns, and other beauties).. Also, please be careful, this area is a work in progress and there are tripping hazards, the rocks are not stable, there is barbed wire from the old farm scattered about.

Campers

Feel free to arrive as early as 1 to get your camp stuff set up. There are several areas to choose from for you. If you pull in the driveway, you can follow the mowed path to the right of the driveway before you cross the creek. Feel free to park your car by your tent-site. There is a big mowed area down by the spring house (separate entrance to the property west of the driveway entrance). This will be a good spot if you prefer a little distance from the party and may provide a little more shade in the morning! If you camp there, park your car near the gate and walk to the mowed tent area.

We will have some signs and tents set up so hopefully it will be clear, but if you get here and aren’t sure, just ask when you arrive.
